Student Support

At King James, we place importance on providing students with the highest possible levels of pastoral care and support.

Academy Student Support Team

We have a large and highly skilled academy Student Support & Safeguarding Team, which includes a range of staff who provide individual and group-based support to students. All Student Support staff, and a range of other staff, have L3 Safeguarding/Child Protection training. We have prioritised ensuring we have a large group of staff with a support-based focus, so that we can meet the needs of each individual. Each Year Group has two Heads of Year and one dedicated Student Support Worker.

External support

We also work collaboratively with a wide range of external organisations, to provide additional support for students and families. Please see the ‘Additional Support & Counselling’ section.
