Students at King James I Academy and Sixth Form Centre are celebrating the best ever set of A-Level results, with a 100% pass rate across all courses and 100% of students who applied to university successfully securing places at top institutions.

Media students in Years 10 and 12 have visited Beamish Museum to study how sets, props, costume, hair and make-up are combined to reflect a specific time period; in the media industry this is called mise-en-scene.

Each year, students in Years 10 and 12 take part in Work Experience Week, with placements in a wide variety of sectors.

The stimuli of ‘Morality’ and the work of Wes Anderson influenced the direction of the department's abstract performance and through the stimulus, students explored the complex and wonderful world of Morality and the personal, chaotic, web like narrative it would embody if actualised.

The Sixth Form Football Team at King James is celebrating an outstanding win against the previously unbeaten League Champions, Redcar and Cleveland College, to win the North East College's League.
