Year 13 Media student, Cai H has been an integral part of setting up the studio and will offer technical support during Primary Outreach sessions.

The Media Department is celebrating the completion of an exciting green screen studio resource; this will allow students to create a full range of creative film making projects.

The studio, complete with new HD video cameras, remote control lighting units and editing software, will allow for the production of high quality short fiction, documentaries, news programmes, music videos and podcasts. Green screen technology means that presenters and actors can be transported to a beach, jungle or city setting at the click of a button; this means that there are now no limits to our students' creativity.

The new roll-down backdrops, which were also built into the studio, will allow it to be used as a photography studio too, and starting this week, pupils from Toft Hill Primary School will be attending weekly Primary Outreach sessions to experience Creative Media Production for themselves as they form a news team to research, write, present, film and edit their own programme.

The department hopes to launch a new Youtube channel this term to showcase the excellent work produced by students not only in their lessons, but also in extra-curricular activities, including the new Stop Motion Club and the planned Sixth Form Podcast.
