Students in our Key Stage 3 after-school Gusto Lingo Cooking Club have been learning how to make Chinese food using healthy ingredients to create a healthy 'Fakeaway'.
Food Teacher, Mr Blood who runs the club, wants to promote a passion for cooking whilst introducing students to dishes from around the world, therefore increasing their food preferences. However, he wants to make sure our young people are also thinking about healthy options instead of choosing high fat and high sugar takeaway meals. At this session, students created a healthy Honey Chilli Chicken dish using natural honey from bees which are owned by one of our English Teachers, Miss Adjei.
Mr Blood has arranged for a number of Teachers to join him in the kitchen throughout the academic year to share their favourite recipes with students at the club.
