Miss Howard's Form group donated a huge amount of cans.

Staff and students at King James I Academy have organised a successful Christmas food drive to support local charities.

The annual 1,000 Can Challenge, which is a student-led initiative, saw 1,625 cans collected; these were shared between the Angel Trust and West Auckland Foodbank for direct distribution to those in our local community who are most in need. Members of staff supported a different organisation; they donated groceries and festive treats to the North East charity, Feeding Families, which supports families facing food insecurity by providing emergency food boxes and festive food supplies.

Fundraising is a hugely important part of life at King James throughout the academic year however, the Academy understands that food donation at Christmas time can make an enormous difference and make sure that no-one is hungry.
