As part of our committment to improving literacy skills, we are currently developing and introducing a number of new learning resources. Literacy Learning Walls and Mats are now a feature of every classroom.

Following much anticipation, phase one of our school development is complete and our new building is fully functional. Students are now enjoying our purpose-built classrooms, new style dining and seminar areas, and superb sports facilities.

At the beginning of November, Mr Middleton and some Year 9 students were invited to County Hall to present their findings of a year-long "Religious Enquiry" project.

Students have recently enjoyed a trip to Windlestone Campsite where they took part in an inspiring outdoor reading and story telling event.

King James I Academy is the first school in the area to work in partnership with Asda on a recently launched "Skills for Life' programme, which introduces young people to the diverse range of careers in retail.

Year 11 students have just completed a Film Trailer for GCSE Media Studies, which they planned, filmed and edited independently. Students visited Auckland Castle to gather footage and also used locations around the school.
