A group of 12 students, who are all part of our Carnegie Shadowing group, joined local judge, Katy Wedderburn for a special event in our Library.

The Yoto Carnegies celebrate outstanding achievement in children's writing and illustration respectively and are unique in being judged solely by librarians. The Yoto Carnegie Medal for Writing is awarded annually to a children's book author whose writing creates an outstanding reading experience.

In the session, which was organised by our Academy Librarian, Mr Wheatley, students learned about how the award is judged and asked some incredible questions whilst vocalising their critical opinions on this year’s long-listed titles.
