Lily W, pictured above left, achieved grade 7 or above in all subjects.
The fantastic amount of hard work put in by King James I Academy Year 11 students leading up to their final GCSE exams in May and June has paid off, with another year of positive results.
Results this year have improved even further, following on from our consistent track record of positive outcomes for learners.
Pupils have achieved strong results across a range of subjects, including in the core subjects. We are especially happy with results in English, which have improved significantly from 2023-24. Results in Maths are also very positive, and 100% of students achieved at least a Grade 4 in Statistics and 68% achieved at least a Grade 5.
In addition to this, pupils achieved superbly in the range of other subjects. In History, 70% achieved a Grade 4 or above, with 52% achieving a Grade 5 or above. In PE, 100% of students achieved a Grade 4 or above, with 60% achieving a Grade 5 or above. Results in Geography are also impressive, as are outcomes across the range of vocational subjects. Of particular note are outcomes in Creative Media, in which 61% of students achieved the highest possible grades (Distinction* or Distinction), and in Sport in which 100% of students achieved a Level 2 Grade, and 81% achieved at least a Merit grade. Results in Enterprise, Music, Food & Nutrition and Health & Social Care were also very positive.
Art and Photography results are very positive as usual, with 100% achieving a Grade 4+ and 90% achieving a Grade 5 or above. Science results have improved year-on-year and 91% of students achieved a Grade 4 or above in Biology. Computing results are extremely positive, following on from a tradition of superb results in previous years, with 80% of students achieving a Grade 4 or above, 70% achieving a Grade 5 or above, and 20% achieving the highest possible grades (Grades 7-9).
Particular congratulations go to our highest achieving students, including Lily W who achieved a Grade 7 or above in all subjects, including the highest grade possible (Grade 9) in English Language and English Literature, and Grade 8 in four other subjects. Tai H achieved seven Grade 8 results, and Danny S achieved six Grade 7+ grades, including a Grade 9 in French!
We are proud of all of our fantastic students, many of who will now progress in to our Sixth Form, following a superb set of A' Level results last week. The results our pupils have achieved are a testament to their dedication and perseverance, not only in the last two years but throughout their journey so far at King James I Academy.
