Muay Thai World Championships (June 2025)

Keanna Carrick, has returned from Italy with a gold medal and a world title following her victory at the Muay Thai World Championships.

 

Hartlepool United Academy (2024-2025)

Jackson Raitt in year 11 has just signed for Hartlepool United Academy for the 2025-2026 season. Congratulations Jackson!

Kianna-Rose Walker (year 7), Kaidon Hallimond (year 7), Kaine Butler (year 7), McKenzie Pattison (year 7), Kaitlyn Rutherford (year 8), Zac Moffat (year 8) and Adam Plews (year 9).

Layla Vickers Year 9 (2023-2024) - Sunderland Girls FC. 

Leyla Vickers in year 9 is now officially on the England talent pathway after she attended the initial England camp in November. We have just had confirmation that Layla is now officially on the England talent pathway for at least the whole of 2024.

She has been invited to two further camps on Friday 23rd January and Friday 2nd February, England have an under 15 squad which she can be considered for this year… What a fantastic achievement!!

Year 11 student, Ruby Sheridan has won Durham County Council’s Young Peoples’ Award for ‘Outstanding Person’ 2022.

2021-2022 Ethan Allison (Year 11) - Boxing

Ethan Alison in year 11 has reached the national Championship Semi-finals after winning the Tyne Tees and Wear Junior Development Championships. Well Done Ethan! A fantastic achievement.

2021-2022 Sonny Sowerby (Year 12), Brooks Sowerby (Year 10) and Konnie-Grace Sowerby (Year 9) - Thai Boxing

Our very own Sowerby siblings have been talent spotted by GB!! They’ve been offered the opportunity to represent Great Britain in Thai Boxing. What a fantastic opportunity. 

2021-2022 Amelia Dickinson (Year 11) and Byron Coolingwood (Year 7) - Cross-country

Byron Collingwood finished 10th and Amelia Dickinson finished 12th in the local cross-country championships and now they have both qualified for the county competition in January 2022.

Andrew Nelson SAFC - Football

Andrew has successfully joined SAFC on a two year scholarship. He has played regularly for the U16 and U18 teams as a striker. 

He is now member of the U23 squad playing regularly and has scored his first goal for the team against Derby U23 in January 2017. On January 31st 2017 Andrew joined Hartlepool United Football Club on loan for the rest of the season, where he started several games. In January 2018 Andrew joined Falkirk FC who play in the Scottish Championship. He is currently playing for Darlington FC.

 

 

 

Callum Williams NUFC - Football

Callum Williams is in the second year of his scholarship. This year he has played in the reserve team and is hoping to continue this next year. Callum is now a regular in the U23 team and even made it to the first team squad when he was named on the bench in the Premiership game in 2015/16 season. In August 2017 Callum signed for Gateshead FC on loan until January 2018. He has played a lot of matches for Gateshead gaining a lot of first team experience. He is currently playing for Spennymoor.
