To ensure our Sixth Formers have the best chance of success when applying for university, apprenticeships or a job, we arrange a work experience week for Year 12s to help them learn new skills and add to their CV.

This year, students were placed in a wide variety of local businesses and organisations from different industry sectors. Students worked at the Gala Theatre, Bishop Auckland Town Hall, Woodhouse Leisure Centre, North East Outdoor Pursuit Centre, Gabrielle’s Italian, Wilson Vets, Pretty Paws, Auckland Project, North Park, Timothy Hackworth and Evergreen Primary Schools and Marwood Equestrian Centre to name but a few. A number of students also spent the week working at King James, helping out at Year 6 Induction Day and in various departments. Pictured here are James G and Nicholas H, who both got hands on with our Academy Site Team, developing a range of skills including using power tools for the first time
