Each year at King James I Academy, we hold a Coffee Morning and Bake Sale fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Care, and this year we are delighted to announce that we have beaten all previous records.
The event began with two days in our Sixth Form Common Room and an excellent spread organised by Linda Dixon, our Sixth Form Mentor, and Anne Goddard, our Careers Adviser. With a huge selection of both sweet and savoury items, tea, coffee and fruit punch, both students and staff enjoyed a very tasty break and lunch.
Next, a Bake Sale with cup cakes, doughnuts and cookies was organised at lunchtime in our Dining Hall for students in Key Stages 3 and 4, and once funds were combined, we had raised a total of £527 for this very worthy cause, breaking all previous records for this annual event.
