1,048 cans were collected for Woohouse Close Food Bank.

Last month we launched our 1,000 Can Challenge with the intention of collecting 1,000 cans of food to donate to our local food bank and we are delighted to announce that we exceeded it with a total of 1,048 cans!

Organised by Mrs Aitkin, one of our Assistant Head Teachers, students and staff brought donations to school throughout the month of November to show support for local families who need a little help as Christmas approaches. Tutor groups also competed in a friendly in-house challenge to collect the most cans and Miss Howard’s Year 7 Form Group was the clear winner.

Collected items were displayed in our Main Reception at our Festive Fair and collected by Woodhouse Close Food Bank at the beginning of December. We hope our efforts help to stock the shelves for those who need it most and would like to thank our students and parents for their kindness and support for such a worthy cause, especially one so close to home.
